Remodelishing a Bar nearby the university of Braga, attending it was allready a project of mine, it was imperative to gain more space for the clients and create better work conditions and conditions for the clients, such as bathrooms, lightning, space.
The project started with the choice of colors to use and what space to be demolished and how would it be use. As the red appeared, was a natural choice of the element fire, after that, it was easy to choose the other elements.
allthought, the lines of the working space were to be modern, and an image would have to be part of the decoration, for it would clear the space, and create a motive. a cafe during daytime and a bar at night, where people can talk, play, create, dream and invent life as they use the time inside the walls.
One particullarity, was to fully close the view of the bar at night, and clear as maximum as possible the 11,50m facade.
the wallpaper was chosen as represent roots; the greenbeije pilars was the color that would block the image that was pretended, and it represents mother nature. the roof color was the same as before, in chocolate brown. the floor maintened it´s material, that is wood, but a small part of the bar was changed to a floor tile next to a natural black stone of portugal. The walls of the btahrooms were dressed in red. the courtains simbolize life as a theater, where life appens. the metal lightning was chosen as simboling the four suns, as recreating a new world where you can live.
As you can see in the pictures it was pretended a an iconoclast architecture of the all bar and still maintain the initial image of CARPE NOCTEM, a day and night bar.
